Freddie came to play at his Local pub when I was Landlady and he was still at school, I remember him showing me a few songs he had gone down, he was nervous but ever so happy and polite. We had him play and he was very popular. We had him back again and the change in his confidence was immense. Not only is Freddie very good at what he does, but he also enjoys it and that comes out in his performances. It was always a pleasure to see him.

I understand that the new managers at the pub The Crown Inn Grewelthorpe, have also had him play a couple of times too, which is fantastic to see. Young raw talent needs to be nurtured, supported and commented on to help the confidence and performance knowledge grow. Whatever the event I will always be pleased to have Freddie come along and play.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Freddie for not just his performances but also our chats when he was passing, something that I do genuinely miss.

Freddie is amazing. He’s performed at Wetherby Christmas lights for a number of years now and never fails to entertain the crowds, in fact before he has chance to pack his guitar away we secure him for the next event. An amazing and very talented young man.

A huge thank you to the wonderfully talented Freddie, who recently played at our wedding. From the first time we saw Freddie playing, we loved him. Such a beautiful voice and an amazing ability to respond to the crowd with his energy and presence. We instantly booked him to play during our evening wedding reception and everyone absolutely loved him. We had so many comments asking who the amazing singer was and so many compliments to pass on to him. Freddie is such a happy, incredibly polite and professional talent, who was happy to adapt to our requests, even on the night itself. He made booking entertainment so easy and communication was great. He blew us away all night and played a beautiful rendition of Snow Patrol’s Chasing Cars for our first dance. From beautiful well known ballads to absolute crowd pleasing everyone on the dance floor moments, Freddie kept us all entertained and made our evening very special and certainly one to remember.

    On the evening of Wednesday, April 22nd we at The Red House were entertained, in my view, by one of the most talented young men in the district. His name is Freddie Cleary and his performance of songs from Bing Crosby and George Formby to Bob Dylan and Neil diamond, with Johnny Cash, The Beatles, John Denver, Elvis, Chuck Berry, and many others, including Vera Lynn in between, was a sheer delight to listen to. His repertoire, singing ability and guitar playing skills are beyond belief, and for those who didn't sign up for his performance, all I can say is, "you missed a treat". He was joined by our very own Peggy Vennell for some numbers, who also gave us a wonderful solo performance at the end of the session.

    Freddie will be booked for a return performance shortly I understand, and I would urge residents to sign up for hopefully another most amazing and enjoyable event, and one that you will not be disappointed with. By his own admission he had studied his potential audience and selected his repertoire accordingly, which to me indicates a professionalism and dedication to providing entertainment which we could relate to, participate in, and enjoy to the full.
